Pro Athletes Giving Back

Kainoa Rudolfo January 30, 2012 0

While this year’s  Pro Bowl is over, the generosity of the National Football League and several professional footballers will be seen for years. As part of its national Play60 campaign to encourage physical activity, the NFL teamed up with community members to build a playground at the new S.M. Kamakau campus in Haʻikū. Hailiʻiōpua Baker, a parent at Kamakau, remarks how important it is to have the entire ʻohana involved: “This is a community-based school and that is what we’re seeing today. The community has come together because of how much we love these kids of the Koʻolau community.”
